Aldona Zawojska is Assistant Professor and Chair of the Division of Economics at Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW (WULS), Poland, where she has been since 1988. She completed her M.A. degree with distinction from the Warsaw School of Economics in 1987. She received her Ph.D. in economics with distinction at WULS in 1996, and her habilitation in economics at the same university in 2014. Her current research interests centre on institutional and political economics of development, with special focus on rural areas, as well as on agriculture financing. She is the author and co-author of about one hundred papers in the scientific literature, the member of editorial board of The Scientific Journal of WULS, “Economics and Organization of Agri-Food Sector”, member of the European Association of Agricultural Economists and former member of the Society for Study of Emerging Markets. Throughout her career she has been an active contributor to many international conferences.
